photos for digital marketing

Attract an audience who resonates with your vision.

An energized photo tells the audience who you are before you ever open your mouth. It’s an introduction without words. Photography can communicate even the most complex of emotions. Through color, contrast, and composition, an image tells a story of who you are and what is important to you. If you are attracted to my art, my audience will be attracted to you, too. With each photo I post of you, you will attract new followers, “friends,” and potential customers.

Convey your professionalism with beautiful imagery.

Is paint on your hands professional? Professional fun? With each client, I collaborate to create images that reveal who you authentically are. Recently, I worked with a local business owner to develop updated headshots. When I sent him the images, he said, “I cannot wait until the next time someone asks me to send a headshot over.” We have all had the opposite experience, too, where someone asks for a headshot, and we cringe. We scroll through the images we have and randomly select something.

The best brands are built mindfully.

Your brand should not be random. Each and every photo I post is a reflection of who I am as an artist.

Enjoy the experience.

Before I became a photographer, I trained in active listening and storytelling and down regulating the nervous system and sensing energy. All of these skills come in handy in photography. I have the ability to make even with people who are uncomfortable (i.e., a euphemism for “hate being photographed”) in front of the camera, comfortable. How? I’m tempted to say it’s a gift, but it didn’t come free and naturally. It’s a skill I have crafted through the years. It is not uncommon for my most reluctant subjects to say after we wrap up, “That was fun!” (I am not kidding). I know all of the people on my page look like movie stars, and you might be sitting here reading this in your yoga pants thinking, “I am not good enough.”

You are.

I’m going to guide you each step of the way. If you are reluctant, get your hair and makeup done. Let me know what it is that makes you so uncomfortable. Are there parts of your body you want to protect? I promise you. I’ve heard it before.

There are a zillion photographers in town. The product I create is unique fine art and portraiture. And, with your help, I co-create a beautiful experience. When we part ways, we feel uplifted and fulfilled. This unparalleled service is what I strive to offer.

A caveat on cost . . .

Professional photography is expensive, right?

I know I should not answer a question with a question, but here it fits. How much is it costing you *not* to bring in your ideal clients / students / audience? You have spent countless dollars and hours honing your craft, fine-tuning your technique, and refining your skills. Regardless of how beautiful what you are offering is, you might be losing out on revenue because your marketing does not reach your target audience. If you do not have a website, do not post who you are on social media, do not send a newsletter, how do you connect with new and existing clients?

If you need photos for free, find a photographer who is building his or her portfolio. Or, get a self-timer on your iphone. I remember what it was like to be just starting out, when I took *every* opportunity presented to me because I was worried I would not have enough food to eat. Over the past six years, I have crunched the numbers every quarter to ensure that my business is not only profitable but sustainable. I am of no use to the world if I have to close my doors next month because I cannot afford to pay my bills because I have been undervaluing my services.

Invest in yourself.

I would not be where I am without the help of small business owners who helped me brand my business. Therefore, I am willing to work with you on a sliding scale and a payment plan without interest.

$1200 – Supporter (for larger businesses who need multiple headshots and marketing images)

$750 – Sustainer (standard price for small businesses)

$500 – Community (discounted fee* mostly for newer yoga instructors)

*session cannot occur during a weekend; can be paid over 3-5 installments

What does the cost include?

one 30-minute pre-consultation by phone, Facetime, or at Righteous Foods to determine location and styling

a two hour session (I will not set a timer and usher you out if we are capturing magic)

my time and talent

I just need a couple shots. Do you do mini sessions?

I am a boutique photographer who takes only two clients per week, which ensures that I create fine art for each individual with whom I collaborate. Mini sessions are the norm in some circles, I know, and for good reason; however, I prefer to work with a handful of people and take my time to ensure the experience is relaxed. I may not be the photographer for you. I can refer you to someone else.

When will I see my images?

Galleries are available online within 3 weeks. At that time, I will send you a zip link to download your images to your computer.

How many images will I receive?

Your session fee includes approximately 25 assorted edited images, as well as the digital rights and licensing fee to your images for personal and commercial use.

When do I pay for my session?

$150 non-refundable reservation fee confirms your space in my calendar. The remaining balance is due on the date of your session unless otherwise arranged. Cash, check, or PayPal via amber@ambershumake.com are viable payment options. All pricing is subject to 8.25% sales tax. And a 2.9% service charge will be added for PayPal payments made with credit card. This charge does not apply to debit card purchases. Payments for prints and products are due at the time the order is placed.

How do I book a session?

You can book a session by sending me an email at amber@ambershumake.com or by visiting my contact page.

I look forward to working with you!
